  • Sensus Traditionis
This website is dedicated to the defense of the orthodox Catholic faith as well as a promotion of serious academic thought in the areas of Catholic theology and philosophy. There are many excellent homilies available by the site's webmaster, Father Chad Ripperger, F.S.S.P.

  • Savior.org
Savior.org's mission is to increase awareness and devotion to our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament. It also seeks to bring the live image of His living Presence to the homebound, the workplace, and to remote areas around the world. This is done by means of a live webcam at the chapel of the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The site itself features sections on the Eucharist and saints and blesseds. In addition there is an excellent section of devotions one may use while spending time in adoration online. You may also leave your petitions for the sisters who spend much of their lives before the Blessed Sacrament. This is a wonderful place to visit if you are confined to a desk at the office or sick and homebound.

  • Ioannes Paulus P.P.II
The Diocese of Rome launched this website dedicated to the Servant of God, Pope John Paul II's beatification and canonization. Some parts are the site are not available in English and as the canonization process continues more information will be added.

  • Contemplating Today's Gospel
Contemplating Today's Gospel is a "collective homiletical" distributed via Internet. The site provides a daily email to subscribers which contains the daily Mass Gospels accompanied by a brief commentary (of about 300 words.) The commentaries/homilies are written by an international team of more than 150 Catholic priests, whether secular or religious. This resource is completely free and is available in English, Spanish, and Catalan. The site is beautifully designed, and provides a good way for users to read and contemplate the Gospel.

  • Marian Archive, The
This site offers a resource for links to sites on the Blessed Virgin Mary. The topics include: apparitions, documents, saints, art, meditations, shrines, articles, prayers and theology.

  • Franciscan Friars of Rochester, NY
The Franciscan Friars on Mt. Read Blvd. in Rochester, NY are a schismatic group of friars claiming that the See of Peter is empty. This site has no legitimate claim to be Catholic and should only be used for research purposes.

  • Disciples Now
Disciples Now is a cyber ministry for youth focused on "the traditions, life, and mission of the Catholic faith community. The site seeks to provide informational resources, opportunities to learn, to discuss, and to celebrate the challenges of discipleship in the context of daily life." It does provide a number of good resources and information to help readers put their faith into action; however, these resources are interspersed with material and links that are not Catholic. Overall, this is a vibrant and well designed site, but it is sometimes lacking in solid Catholicism.

  • Our Lady of Siluva
This site gives information about the first widely known apparition of the Mother of God in Europe, Our Lady of Siluva. Called the Lourdes of Lithuania, Siluva is one of the most famous places of veneration of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The site itself is attractively laid out and offers an overview of the devotion and the churches of Siluva.

  • Sacred Heart Online Prayer Retreat
This site offers original prayer-poems, readings and reflections for use in making an online prayer retreat. It is devoted to leading people to the Sacred Heart. The Retreat is divided into a journey with seven parts. Each of the parts can be downloaded using Acrobat 4.0.

  • Latin Vulgate.com
Latin Vulgate.com was established to "help understand difficult verses in the Bible using the original Latin Vulgate as a reference." To accomplish this, the site provides the complete Latin Vulgate as written by St. Jerome, as well as the Douay-Rheims English translation with original commentary, and the entire King James Version for an alternative translation. The site receives a caution in fidelity because of the Google Ads. Note: The user must register for free access to all the features of the site.

Catholic Saint of the Day - Let's all strive for sainthood!

  • St. John I, Pope
By birth Pope John was a Tuscan, the son of Constantius. He was an archdeacon for several years before being elected Pope upon the death of Pope St. Hormisdas in 523. He was also a good friend and confidant of the philosopher Boethius. In 525 Pope John was sent to Constantinople by King Theodoric of the Ostrogoths to reverse an edict sent out by Emperor Justin against the Arians two years earlier, which required Arians to give back churches which they had taken from orthodox Catholics. Throdoric was himself an Arian, and a strong defender of Arianism (a heresy which arose in the 4th century and denied the divinity of Christ).Even though Theodoric wanted a reversal of Justin’s policy, Pope John did not comply with his wishes. Refusing to support heresy, he only counseled the Emperor Justin to be more gentle in his overzealous dealings with the Arians. The success that Pope John achieved was contrary to the wishes of Theodoric. He was received as the Successor of Peter and all the bishops of the East, with the exception of one, affirmed their communion with him and his precedence as Bishop of Rome, notable by the fact that it was he who presided over the Easter liturgy in Constantinople on April 19, 526. Even the Emperor Justin prostrated himself at the Pope’s feet. However, on his return to Rome, Theodoric, who had just murdered John’s good friend Boethius, and was furious with the outcome of the mission and had the Pope imprisoned in Ravenna, where he died of starvation and ill treatment. His body was taken to Rome where he now lies buried in the basilica of St. Peter.
